As part of our continued efforts to support student flourishing, Campus Life is expanding key resources during the period between fall semester exams and the start of the spring semester (‘Winter Break’, for short). Residential spaces on Atlanta and Clairmont campuses will remain open to students currently in residence and in need of continuous housing during winter break.

Thursday, December 12 - Wednesday, December 18 - Exams

Friday, December 20 (Noon) - For Atlanta Campus Residents (Including Peavine and Eagle Row/Lodges) not using Winter Break Housing and will return for Spring 2024

Friday, December 20 (Noon) - For Atlanta Campus Residents (Including Peavine and Eagle Row/Lodges) not using Winter Break Housing and not returning for Spring 2024

Students Residing on the Clairmont Campus During Both the Fall and Spring Semesters: Clairmont Campus does not close during winter break. Students residing on Clairmont Campus for both the Fall and Spring semesters do not have to leave campus during the winter break. We do ask that students complete the Winter Break Housing 

How It Works:

IF YOU ARE RETURNING FOR SPRING 2025 (ATLANTA CAMPUS)

Pack all belongings needed for winter break. After halls close for the break, students will lose access to their building until Spring Move-In. Items not needed for winter break can be kept in the room.

IF YOU ARE RETURNING FOR SPRING 2025 (CLAIRMONT CAMPUS)

Clairmont Campus does not close during winter break. Students residing on Clairmont Campus for both the Fall and Spring semesters do not have to leave campus during the winter break.

IF YOU ARE STAYING FOR WINTER BREAK HOUSING (ATLANTA & CLAIRMONT CAMPUS)

Please register on your MyHousing portal. If you do not register, card access will be turned off until the start of spring semester. More information can be found here.

IF YOU ARE NOT RETURNING FOR SPRING 2025

• Set your thermostat to 68 degrees, auto, heat. 
• Close your windows and blinds. Clairmont Tower residents, please ensure your balcony doors are closed and secured. 
• Maintain a clear path to the HVAC unit in your room, with no obstructions in front of or beside the unit. 
• Completly fill out an Express Check-Out envelope and read all the information on the back.
• Remove all personal belongings, dispose of trash and recyclables, turn off the lights, lock your door and return your room key by utilizing the express check-out envelope and depositing it in the express check out-box desiginated for your residence hall. You may also return the key to your service center during normal business hours. You will find the complete list of express check-out boxes below. Failure to return your room key will result in a lock change charge. 
• Note - A limited number of moving carts/bins are available in each area during the move-out period. Students are not permitted to store any belongings in the residence hall after fall move-out. Any personal items left behind will be considered abandoned property and are subject to immediate disposal and potential charges.
• Once you have finished removing all items and are ready to go, turn the lights off and lock your door.
• RAs will be checking apartments after residents have departed. All damage billing amounts may be appealed, however, improper checkout fees (i.e. keys not returned, items left behind, or checking out after the deadline) cannot be appealed.
• All residents are responsible for returning the key(s) they were given by the Residence Life and Housing Operations staff. The Housing Office will not accept mailed-in keys or keys from a third party (parent/guardian, roommate/suitemate, friend) after the resident has moved out. 

Where to Return Keys:

Students may return their key to their respective service centers (Raoul or Clairmont Tower) during regular business hours (9am-5pm).
