As part of our continued efforts to support student flourishing, Campus Life is expanding key resources during the period between fall semester exams and the start of the spring semester (‘Winter Break’, for short). Residential spaces on Atlanta and Clairmont campuses will remain open to students currently in residence and in need of continuous housing during winter break. 

 

 

Important Dates

Winter Break is Saturday, December 16, 2023 – Sunday, January 14, 2024.

November 1, 2023 Winter Break housing registration form available on MyHousing
December 6, 2023 Deadline to register for Winter Break housing
January 14, 2024 Residence Halls open for spring semester;
Spring 2024 housing agreement begins
January 17, 2024 Spring semester classes begin

Eligibility

All current undergraduate students with active residential housing agreements for Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 living in any residence hall, sorority lodge, fraternity, or theme house on the Atlanta campus are included.
  • Students with a Spring 2024 Only housing agreement may return to campus beginning Sunday, January 14, 2024.
  • Students with a housing agreement that terminates at the end of the Fall 2023 semester are expected to vacate the residence halls by Friday, December 15, 2023 at 12 p.m [Noon]. This includes students studying abroad or not enrolled for the spring 2024 semester, and students graduating at the end of fall 2023 semester.

Additional Information and Support

Students needing to remain on-campus through Winter Break or to return early for spring semester must register by the indicated deadline. No additional cost will be assessed to students for Winter Break housing needs.

Please note that during Winter Break and official university holidays, campus support services may be closed or limited. 

  • Residence Life/Campus Safety: 24/7 support will be available through an on-duty team member.
  • Campus Dining:
    • Retail dining will be available at the Clairmont Café, located in the Student Activity and Academic Center (SAAC) and The Emporium in the Student Center, except on holidays.
    • Catered meals will be provided on select holidays when the cafe and emporium are closed.
    • Students with food insecurity concerns should contact Student Case Management and Intervention Services for assistance.
  • Campus Services/Maintenance: Scheduled maintenance services may be completed on campus during the winter break. This will require university staff to be in student rooms/apartments and around the buildings.
