Lost and Found Policy

Lost and Found can be found at the Raoul Service Center (2 Eagle Row) or Clairmont Service Center (Clairmont Tower). Students should also contact their Resident Advisor or Complex Director if an item goes missing.

Found items are held for 60 days maximum. After 60 days, if an item is not claimed, the item becomes the property of Emory University. Items may then be disposed of by donating to a charitable organization, handed over to Emory Police or discarded completely.

Service Center staff will make every attempt to contact the owner if an email address, first and last name, student ID, phone number or an address is located with the item. Items determined to be highly valuable (wallets, credit cards, cell phones, etc.) will be turned into Emory Police.

Individuals can also visit the following locations for missing items: Cox Hall Computing Center (Main Information Desk), Emory Police Department, Emory Student Center (2nd floor Information Desk), Student Activity & Academic Center (SAAC Information Desk), Woodruff Library (Security Desk) and Woodruff PE Center (WPEC – 1st floor at the Equipment Room).

Abandoned Property

Please note section 1.1 of the Housing Policies pertaining to abandoned property following move out:

All personal possessions, furnishings, trash, and/or discarded items must be removed from the resident’s assigned living space prior to checking out of the space. Property left behind in or around any university residential buildings will be considered abandoned. Abandoned Items may be donated or discarded without prior notification to the resident. Staff will remove items still in the resident’s room after check-out, at the owner’s expense.
