Second Year Housing Selection Overview

Securing your assignment for the 2026-2027 academic year takes a few easy steps.

  • Complete the 2026-27 Housing Agreement located on your MyHousing page by the April 1 selection deadline. You will still be able to apply after April 1, but you will not be able take part in selection. You will need to be an active student in order to see the application. Can’t see it? Reach out to us at housing@emory.edu.

    1. Are you interested in a theme housing community? Their timelines are slightly different. Check out our theme page here for more information.

    2. Are you planning on living in your fraternity house or sorority lodge? Their timelines are slightly different. Contact your chapter leadership for additional information.

  • Complete any roommate matching you wish to complete.

  • On April 3, you will receive your housing selection time slot for when you are eligible to begin the housing selection. Please note that these times are randomly generated. The timing of your application does not impact your selection time as long as it is completed before April 1 (11:59 pm).

  • At your designated selection time (between April 7 - April 9), login to MyHousing and select your room. You will not be able to select housing prior to the timeslot you were given.

For more information, please email us at housing@emory.edu

Second-Year Housing Information

If you sign an on-campus housing application before or on April 1, you will be able to participate in Housing Selection between April 7 – April 9. For applications submitted after April 1, you will receive your on-campus housing assignment during the summer months, as communicated by Housing Operations.

If you are interested in searching for or matching with a roommate, you must complete the housing application on your MyHousing page first. Students will not appear in the roommate search if they have not completed the housing application.

Please make sure you are selecting the “Fall 2026” term from the drop-down box when searching for a roommate.

All roommate/suitemate requests must be submitted through MyHousing before selecting a space. We cannot honor any roommate/suitemate request after a student chooses or receives on-campus housing.

Selection times are randomly assigned and are not based on the date your application is received. Make sure you complete the application by the respective deadline (April 1, 11:59 PM) to take part in selection. On-campus housing will be assigned to students who submitted applications after the April 1 deadline. Assignments will be based on availability.

You will also need to make sure you and your potential roommates are matched in the system. If you cannot find them in the system, make sure they have completed the housing application.

block housing

Block Housing is available at Woodruff Hall and Harris Hall. Block Housing allows students to form groups larger than 6 students and reserve a section of a floor.

  • Woodruff Block Housing: Group of four students/suite. Minimum 12 students in three suites.
  • Harris Block Housing: Group of two students/room. Minimum 10 students in five rooms.

To participate in Block Housing, you need to make sure you complete the 2026-27 Atlanta Campus Second Year Housing Application via MyHousing and email your consent to participate in your group's block housing to blockhousing@emory.edu via your Emory email. Students who are studying abroad during the fall 2026 semester are able to cancel their housing agreement with no penalty. If you are living in an apartment with another student prior to going abroad, please be aware that the Emory Housing Operations staff may assign another student to this vacancy for the spring 2027 semester.

Students returning to Emory in spring 2027 after studying abroad shall monitor their Emory email and the housing website for spring 2027 housing application information. Emory Housing Operations does not reserve any on-campus spaces in anticipation of spring 2027 residents.

Students planning to study abroad are welcome to submit their housing application and complete the housing selection process while their study abroad plans are pending.

Students will retain their on-campus housing for the academic year if they do not study abroad.

Leave of Absence

If you plan to return to Emory following a leave of absence, please reach out to the Office of Undergraduate Education and complete the Request for Readmission via OUE's Resources page. Once you are readmitted, you will be able to apply for on-campus housing.
